Term 3, Week 7 - 25th August, 2022
From the Principal
Dear families,
Welcome to Week 7!
We welcome Mr Jim Midgley (Director Education Services), Mr Marty Savage (Senior Education Leader) and Mrs Pollyanna Goodman (Principal of Sacred Heart Primary School Cunnamulla) to our school next week for our School Renewal and Improvement Process (SRIP). During the week, the panel will be speaking with staff, parents and students and asking the following questions - "What is the school doing well?" and "What can the school do better?".
Thank you to the parents who have agreed to take part in this valuable process. We really appreciate your feedback to help our school continue on its improvement journey into the future.
Year 5/6 HaSS
Yesterday our Year 5 & 6 students were outside the Medical Centre selling goodies to raise money for the RSPCA.
In their HaSS lessons, they worked in teams to create a video advertisement, budgeted and purchased ingredients to bake their food and sold the items in a stall up the street. Students are currently counting the earnings from the event. Thank you to our parents and other community members for supporting this initiative!
Parent Info Session - 5th September
Mrs Robinson and Mr Zahner are running a Home Reading info session for the P-2 parents. In this session, we will take you through the new Decodable Readers home reading system and answer any questions you may have. We hope to see as many parents there as possible to help support you support your child's learning at home.
Congratulations, Mrs Robinson!
On Tuesday night, I attended the Australian Council for Educational Leaders QLD Branch Awards Evening where I accepted the Emerging Educational Leadership Award. It was truly a very humbling evening.
Proud of you, Connor!
We are very proud of Year 4 student Connor McPherson who travelled to Toowoomba yesterday as part of the Macintyre Zone team. Connor participated in High Jump. Although Connor didn't progress further, we know that he tried his very best and want to congratulate him on his first experience at regional sport. We can't wait to watch you continue to kick goals well into the future!
