At St Maria Goretti we strive to provide educational excellence through high quality teaching and learning that stimulates curiosity and promotes further investigation.
We set high expectations for student achievement and behaviour, and by communicating clear learning intentions and success criteria our children develop an understanding of what is expected to achieve success.
In the lower and middle primary years, there is a strong focus on early literacy and numeracy skills. We aim to ensure that all students are engaged and feel successful in their learning. Our lower primary years students take part in fine and gross motor activities, begin their immersion with technology and continue to be supported in their social and emotional growth.
Our Prep-Year 4 students engage in the Australian Curriculum through active learning, problem solving, questioning and cooperative tasks. The Australian Curriculum is designed to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and active and informed citizens. It is presented as a progression of learning from Foundation - Year 10 that makes clear to teachers, parents, students and others in the wider community what is to be taught, and the quality of learning expected of young people as they progress through school.
More information about the curriculum can be found at Home | V9 Australian Curriculum.
